Here I am in Ottawa for my next travel. We arrived Monday 26th by way of Toronto getting here by 9:30 a.m. having left home at 3:45 a.m. We were fortunate to be able to check our carry-on at the gate all the way through. After retrieving them, we headed out to find our bus for downtown. The bus driver told us where to get off closest to our hotel, which was the Rideau Center stop. We wandered around through there for a while and then bought some lunch at Farm Boy. They had lots of great choices, I suppose for the working crowd.Today we took the bus to Governor General’s Estate and took the inside tour.
After we had our food, we walked toward Byward Market, as our hotel is right beside it. Lest you wonder what bank we robbed to stay there, I will tell you that Loretta's son arranged for us to have an unbelievable rate for our 3 night stay. We were much too early to check in, but they locked up our bags and we headed out to explore the Market. We walked up and down several streets,
poking in some shops and eating our way through others (when her leg and back had had enough we sat for ice cream and the guy gave us a generous sample of roasted nuts coated with sugar and cinnamon).
Took a 'red chair' picture on one of the streets that had lots of colourful tulips.
For dessert we had ice cream at McDonald's just down the street.
When we got back, we sat outside (but enclosed by the building) on one of their patios and enjoyed the fresh air and quiet.
Our comfy beds felt very good at the end of the long day.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
For breakfast, we went across the street to a place called Dunn's.
When we finished there, we, of course, had to visit "the Original Giant Tiger".
