4- I Cant Believe November is Ending Already

Nov. 13 I took a different path on my walk. I knew where it went, but I had never been on it so that was great, and added some distance to my day. I walked 7.5 km. 

Nov. 15- internet has certainly accelerated communication. Today I had word from my other daughter- in- law, Kelly, that my grandson, Zach, was featured in the Dal News on Facebook.                                                  


Walked what I call 'the River trail' today and did about 6 km. David had a game with B team in Thonon, so I made my goulash for supper again. It seems to be a hit. Our dessert was last of the maple cookies from Quebec booth at the Foire. I've been knitting with Karen's yarn scraps and decided to make a scarf with France flag on it; just something to do. Karen has symptoms of strep throat, which proved to be true when she got to Doc on Monday.

Nov. 16- Raining today but I still did river walk. Karen requested David make a pot of soup to eat through her sick days and it was delicious for all. I finished a book called " The Wake" which was about an earthquake and resultant tsunami in NL in Nov. 1929. I slept a bit in the evening so I could be up for Grey Cup, which lasted till 4:00 a.m. here. I knit to stay awake.j

Nov 17- I walked the dog in drizzle this morning so only did 2.6 km. Karen got antibiotics so hopefully will improve soon. Despite her ' weakened condition' she still manages to slaughter me nightly in Hand, Knee, and Foot.

Thought it would be funny 😂 to post the warning that I got to slow down when I was walking.😉

Nov. 18- did an extra long walk today, again on a new path( just not been on it before) which took me to a familiar place, and then home along the road- 6.67 km. I've been mostly keeping up my 'reading' with audio books while I walk. I've done several since I've been here, but I'm not going to make my Goodreads goal this year because of availability. Tonight the dog woke me about 3 and I couldn't get back to sleep because I've started again with this stabbing pain which happens in my right foot. When I'm starting to drift off, it jolts me, like an electric shock, and that keeps me from falling asleep.

Nov. 19- David was not doing well today so I had to do the groceries. It's about 1 km. each way. So, my days mostly consist of Duolingo, walking, reading, puzzles online, knitting, and cards in the evening ( much like home but with a much wider variety of scenery). 

Nov. 20- David told me tonight that there is space for me for the trip to Clermont Ferrand for the U18 game on Sunday. I hope the weather is decent.

Nov. 21- it snowed overnight, which is early, and really changed the look of the surroundings. David and Tedy went to a gathering tonight celebrating the Centaures club's 40th Anniversary. Tedy said he had a great time.

Nov. 22- sun is out today, but it started at 0°, so the colder weather is coming. Thankfully, I remembered to bring all my warm stuff so I still enjoyed my River walk. ( it's the Isere River, if anyone is curious).

  My latest caricature created from my  birthday picture at Richard's  (My teeth are definitely not that perfect, but thanks AI) March is ending and so is my visit in France. I've tried to capture and share some of the beauty, and the fun I've had. The weekend of March 21 the Elite team had a home game so I decided to go exploring for the day till game time at 4. I got off the bus in Gières and walked down to the beginning of B tram. I deposited an English book I'd brought with me at the free library at that stop. I got on the B tram with no plan but as I went, I thought I would ride it all the way as I have done a couple other lines. It's a great way to see the city and get the 'lay of the land'. 13- Wow! It's February

  I've seen several memes of shock that it's February and I thought the same. But, I am happy for each change as spring marches toward us. Our days are getting longer and dawn comes earlier. I'm not a bird-er, but I used my Merlin app to record the pre-dawn serenade through my open window and this is the singer. He has several songs, some more melodious than others. I thought it was more than one species but Merlin only comes up with this fellow.  I walk the dog in an empty space behind the school where I can let him off leash. This is what I encountered one day as I strolled in the leaves. Don't look too closely at first, and what do you suppose I thought? It took my heart a little while to settle down from the startle factor and then I laughed and got a picture.  I attended a Tony Robbins webinar on line for 3 days, well evenings for me, because of being ahead 6 hours. 14- Enjoying Olympics

We've had so much rain, so on my walk this morning, when there was no traffic, I actually heard the waterfall. It's not very visible from the road but the sound reminded me to look up.  We enjoyed Tedy's 15th birthday with his requested supper of Chicken Caesar and Joanna made chocolate chip cookies to turn into ice cream sandwiches. David's desk is in the room where I spend my time, so we've shared a lot of the highs and lows for Canada, as he works away on his football plans and watching film. Last night, while he was at practice , I witnessed Canada Women's Hockey and shared the sorrow of their overtime loss of gold. Right now I'm in the midst of cheering women's curling semi-final against Sweden. GO CANADA GO! Spring is starting to show its sweet face, but I guess, there's been an unusual amount of rain, and Karen has been telling me about hearing reports of avalanches, including one that shut down the trains to and from Valence area.  Football s...
